All rooms are spectacular, but the library, music room and dining room are most special. And what about the long redcoloured hallway?Don't forget to bring a fancy dress or suit to dance here! It's almost a fairy tale.
The woods have rare trees, the Libanon Ceder from ca. 1750, beautiful oaktrees and century old. Extraordinary collection of 20 Sequoias, over 150 years old, who form a beautiful, unique and mysterious cirle in the woods (almost an open air cathedral.
You will find deer who show up early in the morning.
There is an ancient walled vegetable garden (formerly used for 40 inhabitants of the castle). The estate is about 15 acres. Next to the castle is a beautiful and large lake (1 acre).
The current owners, Pieter and Willemien are lovely hosts. They are happy to share their treasure with you.
The castle
There are 3 well decorated suites that sleep 4 people eacht and 3 double rooms. Possiblity to add an extra bed. The estate contains 2 gîtes (former stables), not to be seen from the castle and will be of no disturbance to other guests.

The rooms are very spacious and have tasteful and very often antique furniture. Every rooms has wonderfully thick towels and bathrobes. The bathrooms are very authentic and comfortable. Beautiful sinks.

The castle is the perfect place to stay and visit the beautiful Loire Castles such as Chambord, Amboise, Chenonceau, Villandry, Saumur, Angers, Brissac, Plessis Bouré, Serrant, Ussé, Chinon. Close to Le Mans racing circuit.

In a short distance of the castle you will find beautyful and historical towns such as Saint-Denis-D’Anjou with ancient wallpaintings from the 16th century, a markethall and prison that dates back to this period. You will also find a Romanesk church from the 12th century, a townhall from the 15th century.
You may also visit Asnières sur Vègre, with a castle, houses and public buildings that date back to the 13th, 16th and 17th century. Also wallpaintings from the 11th and 14th century. Don't forget to visit l’Abbaye Sient Pierre de Solesmes, an abbey from 1010 (!) with Gregorian singing of monks.
At 10 minutes from the castle
18 Holes Golfcourse of Golf d’Anjou in Champgné, or a little bit further away you will find the 17 holes Golfcourse of Sablé.
In Châteauneuf sur Sarthe (3 km) they rent out mountainbikes. In Juvardeil (2 km) you can rent a cano for the river Sarthe. You can also go fishing on the Sarthe, the Vegre, de Gee etc..
In Saumur you will find the worldfamous Cadre Noir, een uit het Franse leger voortgekomen rijschool op hoog niveau. Vrijwel dagelijks kan de training van de paarden worden bijgewoond; er zijn rondleidingen over de terreinen; regelmatig zijn er dressuur- en springwedstrijden en grote evenementen.
