La Manche - Cotentin is the peninsula of Normandy in France, surrounded by the sea, with beautiful golden sandy beaches with pretty harbours, high cliffs and woods.

Château le Val is a charming 16th century château, hidden in a green valley, filled with flowers and birdsong. This family-run chateau has safe secluded gardens in 12 acres of grounds and pretty meadow lands with lots of space for the children to play. You can relax and enjoy your meal inside and outside. Soak up the atmosphere by eating outside in the grounds of this beautiful Norman chateau with lots of character. Guests have full use of the gardens, which includes the wooden garden furniture and the BBQ under the beautiful Cedar tree. This is a lovely setting for an evening party.

Just outside the village of Brix, via a long avenue with old oak trees, you drive into the peaceful valley of 'le Val'. Chateau le Val is a manor house, rebuilt in the 16th century, with original features from the 12th century. Here you still find birds of prey, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, owls and pheasants. Remarkable is the peaceful character and the serene environment. You can enjoy a walk through the maize fields and small hamlets around the chateau.

Every season has its charm. During a Spring holiday the apple blossoms, huge purple rhododendrons and a green valley filled with flowers and birdsong, will steal your heart. The gardens offer pretty places to sit with wooden furniture.

Under the centuries old Cedar of Lebanon in the garden are 2 large barbecues for a nice garden party. Children's play ground with sand pit, swings under tree, outdoor table tennis. There is a large field to play cricket, badminton, volley ball or football. There are sweet little donkeys, a pony, horses, ducks and doves for the children to see. Carp fishing in own lake in peaceful valley of the castle.

In the summer the clear ocean with its beautiful long sandy beaches gives you a fantastic day: sunbathing, swi mming and playing on the sand. Coming home after a relaxed day on the beach you could enjoy a glass of wine, some bread and French cheese, in a nice little corner of the gardens. For a romantic break in autumn or winter we offer a pleasant stay with central heating and cosy evenings around a log fire. It is possible to have an apartment with television/video with lots of good English movies to borrow.

Couples or families
The château has elegant double rooms and family rooms with lovely views. Each bedroom has a private bathroom & toilet. A family room has one or two bedrooms.

Groups
This large holiday house offers a lot of privacy with several rooms and self-catering apartments within the chateau. You can have your own part of the house with bedroom, bathroom and some have a private kitchen and a living room as well. But you can also enjoy each others company as a group, there is a lovely dining room on the ground floor, which has a medieval atmosphere with lots of candles, old niches and huge stone fireplace. This is a cosy unforgettable room where you can have meals by candlelight.

Here lots of people have celebrated a special occasion like a wedding, 25th wedding anniversary, a 50th wedding anniversary or a special birthday party. Next to the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen for the group, with microwave, dishwasher, extra large fridge etc. For groups there is a CD-Player and a television with video (for video use only with lots of movies).
